Blue Greenway Steering Committee Meeting

October 2nd, 2012

Through our EPA funded, Blue Greenway Brownfields Area-Wide Planning project, the San Francisco Parks Alliance (SFPA), has worked closely with neighborhood leaders, community organizations and City agency staff to identify brownfield sites located along the Blue Greenway. Over the last year and a half, SFPA has held walking, bike riding, kayaking tours and a host of other outreach activities to learn about the communities vision for these spaces.

On October 4th, the Blue Greenway Steering Committee will receive a presentation on the draft schematic designs for four brownfield sites identified in the Blue Greenway Area-Wide Plan. During the meeting we will collect your feedback on the draft concept designs. Please click here for maps of the sites under consideration.

The meeting will be held October 4th, 4:00pm-5:30pm at the Port of San Francisco’s Embarcadero Conference Room.

Green Connections: Upcoming Open House

Date: Wednesday October 3, 2012

Time: 5:30pm – 7:30pm

Meeting Location: LGBT Center, Rainbow Room 1800 Market Street
Info: Starting with the February kick-off event – the Green Connections team has led over 20 outreach events. Drop by the open house to see these products, learn more about the project to date and provide feedback.

About Green Connection - Green Connections is a two-year project looking at ways to improve access to parks, open space and the waterfront, by re-envisioning City streets and paths as ‘green connectors’. This project builds on current efforts to create sustainable corridors that enhance mobility, green neighborhood streets, and improve pedestrian and bicycle access to community amenities and recreational opportunities.

Get involved! Visit the project web site below for project information, events and meetings. Also, sign up for the Green Connections mailing list to keep receiving future e-mail announcements and follow us on facebook.
