Why Give to the Neighborhood Parks Council?
Parks are vital to the quality of life in every neighborhood of San Francisco. A significant community asset and place of refuge, parks provide healthy recreation and social opportunities as well as connections to the natural world. NPC is comprised of passionate park advocates who take our role seriously as the community voice for parks. For many San Franciscans, parks may be the only open space they can use. Yet, despite the critical role our parks play in our lives, public funding dwindles. NPC has more than 14 years of experience in developing ways to make scarce resources go farther and support the role park volunteers can play in sustaining our public open space.
Where does my gift/contribution go?
With less than ten people on staff, NPC effectively delivers citywide, grassroots support and expert project management to neighborhoods in need of improved access to safe and clean parks. Your contribution directly supports staff time for volunteer training, advocacy, research and coalition building on the Blue Greenway.
